Description
If your iMac 21.5" or 27" won't power on, you might need to replace the power button. You probably don't, but you might.
Fortunately, you can easily test whether the power button switch or attached cable is defective using a multimeter.
The power button is an open circuit by default, and pressing the power button closes the circuit. So touch the probes to the two metal contacts in the connector, and test for continuity while the power button is depressed.
